Senior Year

To this day, I am still amazed at how far I have come. As I complete my first semester of my senior year, I look forward to the knowledge and skills that will bring me closer to my end goal. I love that some aspects of patient care are becoming second nature, rather than a constant struggle to ensure that I am not forgetting anything. I am excited to sharpen my current skills and knowledge as a dental hygiene student.

Taking a look back at the begining of this program, I would have never imagined how challenging the year would be. I came into this program with no previous dental experience and finished the junior year with more knoweledge, skills, and friendships that I could have ever dreamed of having. The most exciting aspect of the program so far has been the interaction with patients. Afterall, they are the reason we are here! I love that as a dental hygienist, we can make such an impact on the health, attitude, and pasion of our patients. I am excited to move forward into senior year knowing that I will be given the opportunity to improve my clinical skills.

Junior Year

Gradutaion

Dental hygiene school provided me with important skills and values to be a successful part of the dental hygiene community. I am excited to join a new team that will continue to guide me in a positive direction. I am honored to have been a part of the West Los Angeles Dental Hygiene Class of 2016!

In the Office x3

I love being a clinical dental hygienist and being able to help improve the oral health of my patients. When I had my first recall patient, I remember being so excited because I was able to start working toward helping my patient improve their at-home-care step by step. Working in three different offices in Los Angeles gave me the opportunity to learn a variety of approaches to dentistry. Each doctor had their specialty and was very passionate about educating patients on this subject. I loved being able to learn about sleep apnea, the importance of night guards, and the need for keeping the mouth and body hydrated in prevention of decay, along with many other important aspects of keeping a healthy oral cavity.
